A retrospective exhibit of Doug Desmond's work was shown at the Mendocino Art Center in Mendocino, California during the month of May, 2005. The Artist's Reception held on May 14 was crowded with a lively throng of friends and art lovers, all honoring Doug's many years as an artist and beloved community member.

Doug's friends Janet Ashford and Sylvestre Lee performed for the artist's reception. Together, Janet and Sylvestre are The Fort Bragg Philharmonic and Janet is also the designer of Doug's web site.
